MS Chellamuthu Trust and Research Foundation is a Non-Profit Organization founded in the year 1992 by Dr. C. Ramasubramanian, a well-known Consultant Psychiatrist in Madurai, with a mission to promote mental health through holistic mental health care, affordable and accessible to all.

In 2008, the MS Chellamuthu Trust and Research Foundation established the MS Chellamuthu Institute of Mental Health and Rehabilitation. The institution's vision is to make mental health services accessible and affordable for those in need while fostering leadership in the field. Since its inception, the Institute has focused on creating opportunities to enhance and develop the skills and competencies of both current and aspiring mental health professionals.
